Course Desciption

This course focuses on argument and research, with an emphasis on turning academic sources into clear and engaging writing. It develops skills in critical reading, rhetorical analysis, and the use of evidence.

In addition, the course explores digital rhetoric, where we create different forms of online writing such as blogs, portfolios, and multimedia projects. Using animal science as a central theme, the class also encourages us to analyze real-world issues and reflect on how we communicate ideas to different audiences.

ABOUT ME

Yichen Cui
I am a sophomore majoring in Mathematics at UC Irvine. In this course, I am exploring how scientific research can be transformed into engaging narratives, with a focus on animal behavior and social intelligence.

My Goal

In this course, I want to learn how to express my ideas in a logical way, then support my arguments with clear and reliable evidence, and finally make my writing engaging enough that readers are willing to read it carefully and respond to my ideas.
